Pizza is probably the most enjoyable thing to eat in my opinion. Each bite provides an indulgently delicious cheesy tomatoey vehicle for an assortment of flavoured olive oils.

Having been known to eat many a pizza per week we had been aware of Heist Bank since the summer but hadn’t yet had the chance to make it down. Saturday the day came and we hopped on the tube to that strange part of London that is really quite nice and has a quaint canal and boats running through it.

Heist Bank specialises in wood-fired pizza, beer and fresh flowers, bringing something entirely new to the area. The all day venue boasts freshly made pizzas as well as local beer, wine and cocktails- great for quick lunches, post work drinks or chilled weekend jaunts.

With a laid back common room feel and bikes stationed outside which are available to borrow for guests to explore the canal and local area, this feels like a home away from home.

Shipped straight from Italy, Heist Bank’s wood burning oven turns out a selection of delicious pizzas featuring local cheeses, cured meats and seasonal toppings. There is also a range of small plates on the menu, including Cheese curd and olive doughnutsNduja croquettes and Pea and Maple hummus with crudités. The menu also features large dishes such as Slow-roasted lamb and Steak and Hazelnut Crusted Trout.

We went for the Three Mushroom, Burnt Butter White Sauce & Tarragon (£10) and Smoked Sausage, Hispi Cabbage, Chili & Smoked Mozzarella (£11) which were both fantastic. The pizzas also some in meter long orders for those that are really hungry…. or having a party.

With beer as a focus, Heist Bank offers 12 local brews on draft, from the likes of Magic Rock, Beavertown and Siren, which are also available to take out in Growlers. The cocktail list is a ten strong menu of classics using high quality ingredients- highly recommend the Tommys Margarita. Beer mats and take-out pizza boxes are illustrated with original designs by young British artists too which makes the experience feel more unique.

A beautiful, bright and airy one-stop location, Heist Bank is perfect destination for lazy weekend brunches, quick coffees, take-away lunches, after-work drinks and full-blown celebrations, providing Paddington localsw ith a relaxed, all-day affair for any occasion. You really won’t need to leave!
