I turned 25 last month and I wanted to celebrate in style. I’m bored of clubs, didn’t want to trash my abode with a house party and, well, just wanted something a bit different, intimate and classy. I decided to throw a ‘civilised’ daytime affair at Supercity Aparthotel in Rosebery Avenue, Farringdon.

Supercity Aparthotel (as you’ll guess by the name), offers luxurious accommodation which gives you the best of both worlds- it’s part hotel, part apartments. It’s ideal for anyone who yearns for something cosier than a clinical or suffocating hotel room, where they can truly kick back and make themselves at home. I decided to go for a superior one bedroom suite and couldn’t have wished for anything better.

Upon arrival you are greeted by a silver blowfish installation (I named it Bob) and the chirpy receptionist who brings you to your room.

Upon opening the door, I was mesmerised by the attention to detail and the bags of natural light from the double-glazed windows that keep out the road noise. I was even given a birthday card and a bottle of fizz from the staff. It is those little details that truly makes your stay a memorable one.

No need for room service, or unnecessary take-outs whilst staying at Supercity, as each studio/suite comes fully equipped with an oven, a slick black stove and a modern microwave (it made preparing food for my hungry guests that much easier… and cheaper).

The living area is homey without compromising on style. It’s furnished in a chic minimalistic way, loaded with every amenity you’ll need. Beautiful canvases adorn the walls and a sexy flatscreen TV keeps you occupied during those lazy moments (although we didn’t have any time for TV). There is also a glass dining table for a more civilised sit down meal.

The amenities I was truly thankful for, were the washing machine/dryer, the ipod input (what’s a party without tunes), the dishwasher (who’s going to handwash dishes with a hangover?) And the free wi-fi (for Googling crap at 5am of course).

The bedroom is elegantly presented, but the truly memorable factor was…the view. When I woke up the next morning, any sign of a hangover had disappeared whilst looking at that view. Literally all I could see were bright skies and clouds.

Whether you’re a tourist staying for a few days, want a sleek and cosy accommodation for a day, or staying for a few weeks and would rather die than go to a hotel room- Supercity is your best bet. Also, the transport links are a stone throw away so you can ditch those maps.

This is an apartment (without the price tag of a hotel suite). Hangout in the bedroom, eat and lounge in the living room, cook in the kitchen and let your hair down in the beautifully designed bathroom. Bring your friends… there’s surely enough space for everyone (well, not everyone but you know what I mean).

If you don’t like the Farringon option or it’s not convenient, they also have two options in Earls Court.
